Class Schedule

Classes are offered quarterly with a focus of positive training. Our classes are small to meet the needs of the owners and their dogs that large classes can't offer. We have a new 40’x 60’ training building in addition to our 29’x 24' training room.
We have also completed a new outside area, a fully fenced and grass training area for classes and agility this summer!
Debbie Wing has instructed for over 25 years. She had trained and instructed at the Spokane Dog Training Club from 1978-1982. She also owned a boarding, grooming, training and show kennel in Michigan. She has over 25 years in confirmation showing in the AKC ring.

Patricia Simonet of PeTalk.org is our Animal Behaviorist. She encourages regular socialization and daily exercise for your dog's overall quality of life. She is also available for consultations, private lessons and evening classes for Clicker Training, Puppy Classes and Problem Behaviors. Patricia is a certified Delta Society evaluator.
Sheryl Womble has been an instructor at the Spokane Dog Training Club since 1980 and has instructed the Puppy classes, Beginning Home Companion and Advanced Home Companion classes. Sheryl teaches Thursday night Pawsitive Manners classes and sometimes the Canine Good Citizen class. Please welcome Sheryl and contact LynnDee's if you would like to get into her class! Sue McCoury has been showing dogs since the age of 16 in both the 4-H and AKC rings. She is currently raising and showing Shetland Sheepdogs. She is also currently a dog 4-H leader in Spokane County. Sue has a diploma from Seattle Technical Institute in Dog Grooming and Kennel Management.She has worked with various rescue agencies, and with the people-pet-partnership program. She owned her own dog grooming business in Seattle prior to moving to Spokane.
Kathy Keeney has been a dog trainer in Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Novice classes for the past 10 years at a local dog club. She competes with her own dogs in obedience, herding, and agility. On weekends she works at the Spokane County shelter, evaluating dogs for placement into suitable homes. Kathy encourages gentle training with treats and praise, creating good behavior and manners. She teaches Pawsitive Manners Monday nights at 6 PM. Kathy is a member of APDT.
Annette Shannon has been training dogs for 15 years. She has trained and instructed at a local dog training club. All of her dogs have been rescue dogs and came with issues. She believes strongly in rescues and encourages the adoption of rescue dogs. With good training these dogs can make great pets and can be competitive in dog sports.
Pictured is Annette with Cooper, an English Cocker Spaniel that she rescued 4 years ago. He currently holds titles in AKC, NADAC, ASCA and TDAA Agility.
Lori McCallister is a new instructor who will be teaching our puppy classes during Patricia Simonet’s absence. Lori is an American Pet Dog Training Professional Member and a N.A.D.O.I. endorsed instructor. She was a Director of Training and past President of Lilac City Dog Training Club in which she received the 2004 Outstanding Club Member Award. She is also a Level II Certified Invisible Fence Brand Pet Containment Trainer. Lori is an AKC CGC evaluator and Behavior Evaluator at SCRAPS. She is excited to begin teaching our puppy classes and LynnDee’s is happy to have her.
Colleen Hackett is our Rally instructor. She is a long time instructor at the Spokane Dog Training Club. LynnDee's welcomes her to our training center as we are excited to get Rally going!

Puppy Pre-school
Puppy Preschool will be 4 weeks so that a class will be offered every month to meet the needs of new puppy owners.

Intro to Agility
For dogs 12 months or older, introduces the sport of agility & stresses the safe use of agility equipment/obstacles. The focus is on safety and fun while building a good foundation for future agility training adventures. Dog must have successfully completed a basic obedience class. Handler must be able to control the dog on a buckle collar with leash. Dogs will gain confidence, focus, coordination and physical exercise.

Successfully completed Intro to Agility, Begiinning Agility or taking Intro to Agility at the same time. This class teaches the handler the correct body language and movements to effectively direct the dog on the course |

Pawsitive Manners
This class is to help your dog to have the best possible behavior at home or away. You will teach your dog their basic obedience skills and good manners. We want your dog to be a positive member of your family that you can take anywhere. We can also help prepare you for the obedience skills needed for the AKC or 4-H shows.

Pet Partner Team Training Class
This class is for owners that would like to become a Delta Society volunteer with their pet in animal-assisted activities or therapy. Dogs must have basic obedience, be well socialized with people and other animals. The AKC Canine Good Citizen is preferred.
Owners that have a cat may also attend this class!
Delta Society Handbook $35

Canine Good Citizen Class
This class teaches responsible pet ownership and good dog manners. The goal of this training is to ensure your dog is well-behaved around new people and environments, even if you're not with them. Basic obedience skills and dogs that are well socialized are required for this class and the AKC CGC evaluation is on the last night of class.

Jr. Showmanship
This is a class that will focus on the skills necessary for the Jr. showmanship ring. Class will focus on individual stacking, individual gaiting, ring patterns, group gaiting, free stacking, and ring etiquette. Types of show leads and appropriate dress will also be discussed. Dogs must least 4 months of age to participate.

Flyball
Introduction Class
Flyball is a team sport for dog! It's a relay race with 4 dogs on a team. The dogs jump the hurdles and steps on a spring loaded box that shoots out a tennis ball. The dog catches the tennis ball and then runs
back over the 4 hurdles. When the dog crosses the start line the next dog goes. Come join our newest class and have lots of fun! We'd love to have our own team at LynnDee's for future area competitions.
